Share your views on God or religion in 140 characters or less

Now that Pope Benedict XVI has a Twitter account and is using the social network as a virtual pulpit to spread the word of God, we decided to invite readers to share their views on God or religion in 140 characters or less.  You can submit your thoughts on Twitter using the hashtag #BDCGod or via the comments box below.  For inspiration, we've kicked things off with a few tweets  from @Pontfex.

  • By speaking with Jesus in prayer, listening to what he tells you in the Gospel and looking for him in those in need
  • We can be certain that a believer is never alone. God is the solid rock upon which we build our lives and his love is always faithful
  • Any suggestions on how to be more prayerful when we are so busy with the demands of work, families and the world?

Athiest. Not that I mind religion, more the religious using God as an excuse for discrimination/conflict/war/violence.
  • Realist 12/13/2012 7:52:47 PM
I believe in tangible, real things. Things you see and touch. I dont rely on something that I dont know where it is, or if it really exists. Too risky
  • Carl 12/13/2012 7:52:50 PM
    Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
  • DFA 12/13/2012 7:52:51 PM
    Nothing. Everything.

No one book contains all knowledge, no one path can be right when it denies the direction of other paths. Be kind and be open to all around you.

If an omniscient, omnipotent power controlled or monitored the universe, why would it care about how one species in one section of one planet dressed, ate, who they had sex with, and especially what they did with a little piece of skin on the end of the male's genitalia?
  • Mark 12/13/2012 8:17:54 PM
I don't believe in any gods due to lack of compelling and credible evidence.

God shows his will. He won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with him and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

Agnostic Atheist. I have knowledge of god's existence and do not believe such a thing likely. Religion is destroying humanity.
  • Dave 12/13/2012 8:18:01 PM
Believing in absolutely nothing bringeth the sad face.
  • TrinityA 12/13/2012 8:18:06 PM
I have faith in God.Our Lord Jesus Christ. Government incompetence and greed. Not necessarily in that order.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
  • Going Coastal 12/13/2012 10:48:56 PM
I believe in and have faith in myself.
  • Opel GT 12/13/2012 10:49:01 PM
Man created his god; god does not exist; no heaven; no hell. Those who believe otherwise are delusional.
  • Robert 12/13/2012 10:49:05 PM
There is no compelling evidence to believe in any god.
  • Jim D 12/13/2012 10:49:07 PM
After living ignoring Jesus for most of my life I finally opened my heart. Pray for him to reveal Himself to you with an open heart and he will.
  • democrat4life 12/13/2012 10:49:21 PM
I believe in one holy Catholic and apostolic church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the body, and the life of the world to come
  • Now that @pontifex joined Twitter, let's talk about God & religion (in 140 or less) #BDCGod
  • If he did exist, it wouldn't make him any less of a bastard. #BDCGod
  • Resurrection is a discipline that enables us 2 survive the many kinds of death that come each day & the core truth of life is love. #BDCGod
