BREAKING: Whitey Bulger convicted of 11 of 19 murders

The jury has found crime boss and FBI informant James “Whitey” Bulger guilty of all but one of the 32 counts against him. He was convicted of 11 of 19 murders, two counts of racketeering, six acts of extortion, as well as narcotics distribution, money laundering, and illegal firearms charges.

The jury found that the prosecution had proved that Bulger murdered Paul McGonigle, Edward Connors, Thomas King, Richard Castucci, Roger Wheeler, Brian Halloran, Michael Donahue, John Callahan, Arthur "Bucky" Barrett, John McIntyre, and Deborah Hussey.

It returned a "no finding" in the murder of Debra Davis, and decided that the prosecution had NOT proved that Bulger murdered members of the Notorangeli group, Michael Milano, Al Plummer, William O'Brien, James O'Toole, Al Notorangeli, James Sousa, and Francis "Buddy" Leonard.

Jurors decided the prosecution proved that Bulger extorted rent and fines, and extorted Richard O'Brien, Michael Solimando, Stephen and Julie Rakes, and Richard Bucheri, but not Kevin Hayes or Raymond Slinger.

Bulger was found guilty of 34 of the 35 remaining main counts, including extortion of rent, the money laundering of mortgage payments, the transfer of $10,000 to John Martorano for money laundering, possession of firearms and machine guns in furtherance of violent crime, possession and transfer of unregistered machine guns, and possession of firearms with obliterated serial numbers. He was found not guilty of extorting Kevin Hayes.
