Forecasters say the worst winds will arrive in Massachusetts after noon today, hours before Hurricane Sandy makes landfall in New Jersey, expected around midnight or soon after. The Coast Guard says the crew has abandoned a tall ship in distress off North Carolina’s Outer Banks as Hurricane Sandy swirls toward the East Coast.
