  • #Bruins game looked a bit ''watered down.''
  • #fridgealert not nearly as popular when Bruins trail by three goals.

Series tied 3-3 after tonight. MTL has played more disciplined and skilled hockey throughout the games while B's scramble from behind. They are slow. Saturday was just an off night for the Habs - they have consistently outskated the B's and they are hitting harder in this game. If the B's pull it off in 7 games, they got lucky with sloppy play.

Bruins not desperate enough. Need to get bodies to the front and throw everything on net in third. Need a few lucky ones to have any shot of finishing this in 6 now.

Inconsistency of effort is frustrating to watch. Inability to finish is quite puzzling (i.e., missed shots, shots off posts, etc.)

You know it's time to go to bed when you turn around 30 sec after a 2-0 score and suddenly it's 3-0.

  • First line has 13 of Bruins' 41 attempts. No finish.
  • OK, math majors: one goal every 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Bs must go nuclear. Now. Not likely against Price. Possible, just not likely.
  • 911..911..911. RT @rayshul : @GlobeKPD I've lost my appetite. #ThingsINeverThoughtIdSay

  • Krejci and Iginla total 7 shots on net thru 40:00. Lucic lands 1 of 5 attempts.
  • Third period about to get underway. These have been quite interesting stanzas this series, do the Bruins make it interesting again?

On a skip pass down through the neutral zone, the Bruins found themselves caught off guard on the long dish from Nathan Beaulieu, leading to a Max Pacioretty breakaway goal in front of Zdeno Chara.

Pacioretty's goal came 15:24 into the second period and was assisted by Beaulieu and Mike Weaver.

Just two minutes later, after a high sticking penalty by the Bruins' Gregory Campbell at 17:13, Montreal's Thomas Vanek capitalized on a rebound in front of Tuukka Rask as the Canadiens went up 3-0 on the power play goal. The goal was assisted Pacioretty and Andrei Markov.

Rask has 22 saves on 25 shots on goal. Montreal's Carey Price has 17 saves.

The Bruins had a power play opportunity of their own in the second period, but failed to get anything out of it again. They're now 0 for 2 on the power play and are 1 for 2 on the penalty kill.

With the Bruins down 3-0, there will be greater pressure to have one of those famous third period comebacks than before.

Both teams are falling down, but did you notice in the 3rd the Bruins were slipping and falling more? Trying too hard to keep up with the Habs pace.

Correction: in 1st Bruins were slipping and falling down more than MTL, trying too hard to keep up with Habs pace. They can't.

The Bruins dominated about 10 minutes of that period and not only did they not score, they let up two preventable goals.

One of the great things about watching the Red Sox last year and the Bruins during the regular season was their consistency. We joked about whether the Bruins had hit their peak too soon, but they played at a high level most of the time.

  • TheUnsilentMajority 5/13/2014 1:43:04 AM
Chara did not do him any favors on the partial breakaway, but Tuukka was exposed again as a goalie with great overall stats who time after time just does not make the timely save. Say what you want about Thomas, but when he was with the Bruins he probably makes that save and at the very least gives himself a chance to make a play unlike Tuukka.
