Brand Bowl 2014 Live Blog

The top commercials from Super Bowl XLVIII will be crowned during the 6th annual Brand Bowl competition.Brand Bowl 2014 will monitor Twitter in real time and score the ads based on viewer sentiment. We will be using an algorithm to monitor Twitter for product and company names, actor name references, and the #BrandBowl hashtag.Please join us for commentary and analysis by business staff.We'll also be joined by several advertising executives.Eivind Ueland is creative director at allen & gerritsen in Boston. He has worked on two Super Bowl commercials, both for Anheuser-Busch: the 9/11 Clydesdales ad and one called Replay.Marty Donohue is a partner and co-creative director at Full Contact Advertising in Boston. David Banta is executive vice president and executive creative director at Hill Holliday.

    Commercials I am the most excited for: the Budweiser puppy and the dog, Tim Tebow, and David Beckham. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this Tebow commercial with puppies and a flaming building. It may be too much for me.

    A bit of Super Bowl advertising trivia. The very first commercial of the very first commercial break after the very first series of downs is the most coveted spot in the Super Bowl. It is called Spot 1A. Budweiser owned the position for years. Let's see who it is this year. Please don't spoil it for me.
