Live blog: Earthquake in Maine felt in Boston area.

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Maine about 20 miles west of Portland tonight and was felt as far south as Boston, according to the US Geological Survey.

    Felt it in Providence. I was talking to my wife when the shaking stopped our conversation. It only lasted a few seconds.

    We felt it here in East Lynn...the kitchen stove started vibrating..and so did the kitchen floor. It was mild.....but perceptible. Made sort of a humming noise throughout the house.
