We felt the quake in Laconia NH. We had had high winds during the day and first thought it was a big gust. Realized it was a quake since the windows rattled like a hurricane. Didn't feel much shaking of the house, however.

Our house shook here in West Roxbury! It was a deep deep feeling, like the house shook from below. I thought it was a freakishly heavy wind, but when I looked outside everything was still. I was hopeful it was a big truck or something, because it was a strange feeling, and I wanted to know what caused it. Imagine my surprise to hear about an earthquake!!

  • some-yahoo 10/17/2012 1:37:36 AM
We were sitting around the island in the kitchen having dinner, when it sounded like a large heavy object was being dragged on the ground. Since it's not the first time this has happened, I knew what it was. I was surprised to hear it was as close in Maine and measured 4.5.
