Live blog: Earthquake in Maine felt in Boston area.

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Maine about 20 miles west of Portland tonight and was felt as far south as Boston, according to the US Geological Survey.

    Felt it in Brookline.... Shook the bed, couch, walls, TV, pictures, and the floor. Felt it heavily for a few solid seconds became more subdued for a little longer after that before it stopped.

    Wow. Didn't know what it was, truck or water heater blowing up, until the person I was talking to on the phone (in Onset) said their house shook too!! CRAZY. Now my phone doesn't work :(

    I felt it in Dorchester. Thought it was the wind but there wind wasn't blowing so assumed it was a low plane but couldn't see any in the sky. The front of the house felt like it dipped.
